  making organizations more effective

What we can do for you

Throughout this website we refer to effectiveness, for that is our only goal:  to make our client organizations more effective.  Below is how we go about doing so:

Vision in Action:

Effectiveness comes from vision in action. Consistent effectiveness requires:

  1. a what-can-be vision for your organization, shared by all and understood by all;

  2. a way-we-do-things-here, which clarifies the appropriate behavior that will achieve the what-can-be;

  3. plans designed to facilitate action, with each and every plan focused on the single objective of achieving the what-can-be; and

  4. one way of leading and managing your organization: through the plans designed to achieve the what-can-be.

That is why we start our client relationships by ensuring:

  1. that there is a clear vision of the what-can-be;

  2. that the what-can-be is understood by the senior management team;

  3. that the senior management team is committed to the vision; and

  4. that all plans for execution support the achievement of the what-can-be.

Then, and only then, can we (you and us) determine what needs to be done to make your organization consistently more effective.  At all times our work will be done in close collaboration with you and your senior management team.  (However, we are always mindful that if we take too much of your time, then we are not really helping you to be more effective.)

Branding in Action

Values build culture; culture builds brand.  Branding in action happens when your culture leads to the convergence of your what-is-now and your what-can-be.  This requires:

  1. a clear understanding, shared by all, of what your brand aspires to be;

  2. a way-we-do-things-here which aligns values, culture and actions with your brand promise;

  3. clear and consistent articulation of the brand promise, both externally to your customers and internally to your people; and

  4. feedback and measurement to confirm brand effectiveness.

For you to get long term benefit from branding in action, we (you and us) must build the right foundation which ensures:

  1. that all your people understand what effective branding really is (for it involves and touches everybody);

  2. that there is a clear and easily articulated vision of what your brand can be (and that this flows from your what-can-be vision);

  3. that senior management is committed to the ongoing process of alignment and articulation as the way-we-do-things-here from now on (for branding takes time); and

  4. that senior management will act consistently to align all operational activity with the brand promise (and learns from the experience).

Then, and only then, can we (you and us) determine effectively what needs to be done to ensure that what your customers experience resonates with what they expected.  For that is branding in action.

Information in Action

Information in action is powered by effective information.  Consistent information effectiveness requires:

  1. a clear understanding, shared by all, of what needs to be measured to ensure the achievement of the what-can-be;

  2. a way-we-do-things-here in information gathering, which clarifies the appropriate behavior that will provide effective information;

  3. elimination of information silos to ensure consistent information throughout the whole organization; and

  4. effective validation of information to ensure the successful execution of information in action.

That is why we start our client relationships by ensuring:

  1. that there is a clear understanding of what needs to be measured;

  2. that information silos do not exist;

  3. that information is constantly validated; and

  4. that information is indeed in action in your organization.

Then, and only then, can we (you and us) determine what needs to be done to make information in your organization consistently more effective.
